Shipping and Delivery
Delivery times
Items ordered within the ‘UK’ can be sent via Royal Mail Second Class or Second Class Signed For. Usual transit time is 2-3 days, however items do sometimes take a little longer than this.
We are a tiny operation and aren’t always able to process and send orders immediately! Typically we will send out orders at least twice a week.
Delivery cost
We use a postage table to automate a calculation of cost based on item weight and size. We try to keep the postage charged as reflective of actual cost (with packaging) as possible, but please bear in mind that by the nature of this there is some averaging involved, postage rates change frequently, and we have to take into account post office surcharges when we use counter services. If you think that something is wrong please let us know!
International shipping
We had previously stopped offering international shipping, because it’s just a big tanglesome headache post-Brexit. But lots of folks have asked for this, so we’re giving it a go again! As a first port of call though, we encourage you to check out our international stockists to see if there is a bookshop or distro stocking us in your country and support them if so.
If you do want to order directly, this is what to know:
Each country has different import rules and rates for items ordered online. Some countries have a 0% rate for books or journals*, but in some it may be as high as 20%. Since Brexit, this is now the same in the EU for items imported from the so-called ‘UK’ as ‘items sold’ as it is for ‘gifts’ and there is no longer a minimum qualifying value for items to be eligible for import tax.
We are not set up for IOSS and not eligible for DDP, which means that we can only send international items with ‘Delivery At Place’ (formerly Delivery Duty Unpaid) postage services. Which, in normal language, means that you, the buyer, are responsible for any fees payable on import for the item to clear customs, and for sorting this out (rather than a system where we sort it out on this end and charge a little bit more).
Typically where countries have a zero or reduced rate for journals or books, a higher tax will still be charged on stickers, clothing and art prints. Please check the current rates in your country before ordering to know what to expect.
You will need to give an accurate address, email address and phone number at checkout for the customs form. If duties are payable, you will be contacted by your country’s customs via the details provided. For our part, we will fill out the customs form clearly and accurately using the information given.
The tariff codes that we use are:

- Journals: 4902900000
- Books: 4901990000
- Art Prints: 9702900090
- Stickers: 3919908099
- T Shirts: 6109100010

Again – if you wish to order internationally, you will need to pay any customs duties, import duties, or other charges payable on delivery in your country! International postage is a tracked service because of the risk of items being held by customs, and we can’t offer refunds for items that are delayed at or don’t clear customs (unless we’ve made a mistake in the labelling!).
All of which means that it may not be cheap to order! Apologies, and we wish it were not so – for many reasons.
*At the time of writing, amongst these were: Albania, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, so-called ‘USA’.
Refunds
It’s rare, but occasionally items go astray. We can refund or replace any lost items sent with signed for services (so please choose this if its a concern).
We can’t offer refunds for international items sent by DAP that have been held at customs (unless owing to a mistake on our part).
