SUBMISSIONS FOR ISSUE THREE ARE NOW OPEN
We welcome submissions from people striving to care for, connect with, or work together with herbs, weeds and wild plants in ways that honour their being.
All forms of written content considered related to herbalism of all cultural lineages and traditions as well as adjacent practices. Visual content with accompanying written pieces also considered. Collaborations are welcome.
You don’t need to be a qualified herbalist, though qualified or professional practitioners are welcome. We recognise the rich traditions of folk herbalism and their wisdoms. You don’t need to ‘be a writer’ either; we can help develop pieces and offer editorial support where necessary. We particularly welcome submissions from marginalised persons. As a ‘UK’-based journal, we will prioritise contributions from those with a connection (very broadly defined) to Britain as a geographical area. A small payment is offered for all pieces.
Our politics are unequivocally anti-racist, decolonial and anti-acolonial, anti-ableist, trans positive, anti-heteronormative, anti-classist, sex and sex worker positive, asexuality positive, body positive, feminist and anti-patriarchal. We are ideologically anticapitalist although we are entrapped within the mechanisms of it to survive. All contributions should be in accordance with these fundamental principles.
The deadline for submissions is December 5th 2024.
